Will upgrading to Snow Leopard require re-authorisation?
Will upgrading to Snow Leopard require re-authorisation?
Of Live and possibly of other stuff like IK Multimedia plugs?

IF you do a clean install (as you should), most definitely.

No. Why would you do a clean install? Waste of time and effort.

Live did require re-authorization with a clean install.
I was able to use my existing authorizations for both my IK plugs and my Toontrack plugs though.

Your machine ID will stay the same, so if you do a clean install just make a backup of your unlock.cfg
and copy it back into place after installation. This way you don't need to re-authorize.
Then again since the ID does not change, re-authorizing will not use up your authorization count...

The main reason I asked was actually the IK plugs. I've got 14 of'em (jumped the T-racks singles bandwagon) so it's a bit tedious having to re-authorise them all.purplesnet wrote:Your machine ID will stay the same, so if you do a clean install just make a backup of your unlock.cfg

I'll upgrade to Snow Leopard eventually of course. I was just thinking about how much work it would be to clone my Mac, then upgrade and try it just for fun.
Ah, well, it's a bit too late for that tonight anyway. Maybe next weekend.
