Next Live 8.0.5 beta: Live 8.0.5b11!

Post by Alex » Sun Aug 30, 2009 1:15 pm

Hi folks,

We just released the 11th beta version of an upcoming 8.0.5 bugfix update.
Every Live 8 owner can use this beta version.

As it is a beta, please remember to backup critical data before you use it.

Version info:

Current version: Live 8.0.5b11
Expiration date: 2009/09/07
Required serial: Live 8 full version

Download info:

http://downloads.ableton.com/extra/5839 ... ent_en.dmg
http://downloads.ableton.com/extra/5839 ... ent_en.zip

Kind Regards
/Alex

Changes from Live 8.0.5b10 to 8.0.5b11:

Bugfixes:

Loading a Live set with a particular third party plug-in could crash Live when the plug-in instance could not be created [5795]

The AKAI MPD XX REW/FF buttons would not work when properly [5737]

Changing a track routing could make third party plugin window visible when it was hidden via Cmd/Ctrl+Alt+P [5799]

On Mac OS X, switching on the APC 40 or the Remote SL after Live is already started could still not allow to use the controller until its MIDI port was closed and reopened. [1795]

Thanks Alex - installing right now.

But, please, the usual request: it would be great if the installer didn't keep installing Live Packs for instruments I don't own. It's been 11 times now that I've had to watch the installer install Analog, Collision, Electric, Tension, and then first thing I do when it's finished is go to uninstall them again. It's not a massive problem, just an annoying little thing that I constantly associate with beta testing... A more efficient install of only the instruments I have actually purchased might encourage more people to use the betas...

Cheers.

Slowly it is becoming funny, 11 weeks of 8.05 betas and no sight to the final.
I will look at the ableton site in 1 year after 8.05b62 and hope to get the final.
But then i get an absolute bug free version (the first in the history of ableton) :D

Alex, when 8.0.5b8 was released you mentioned it´ll be the final one for 8.0.5 . is this the final 8.0.5 beta? imho, this 8.0.5 beta stuff is getting antic. the time frame for this beta takes already more time than the beta phase before releasing 8.0.1 *exaggerating*

I don't know, could just be me... but I think I create my best work using betas, cause I find myself being more extreme in creativity (trying to break the beta.)

Keep cranking out the betas! I'm loving it.

and +1

indeed for the users of the single ableton Live [meaning non suite version] it would be so great!
