Digital Love: vocoder or talk box?

Post by Smellhound » Tue Sep 15, 2009 6:51 pm

I've never been able to get a definitive answer to this question...what did Daft Punk use to get the vocal sound on Digital Love? There are a couple pretty close talk box performances on youtube, but it almost seems too natural/clean sounding to be talk box. And if it's vocoder, how were they able to get it so intelligible without any of the synth fuzz (sawtooth)?

yeah, it's been debated for awhile, but it is most likely a talk box with some autotune...

...I've always wondered if that guy was for real...
on that note ...
somebody should definitely make a follow up with the original cast...
Police Academy is classic...
