Wanna make a video for a show for tomorrow - help plz

Post by Grappadura » Sat Sep 19, 2009 5:26 pm

Tomorrow I got a gig, in which I will be on stage, and the people will be sitting there, watching me and listening. I figured I need a video to keep their eyes interested, cause me slowly turning some knob is not a big deal.

So I´m trying to download some youtube videos and I need to get them into the right format, which is something I havent yet resolved. Seems the best format is "photo-jpeg", in a mov-file. Seems I need quicktime pro to convert.

What I really don´t know is how to send the video out to the port where the beamer is plugged in. Anybody knows something about all this? Thx!

What about using iTunes visualization mode or a second computer running Winamp or similar doing some visuals?
With that you just hook the second machine up to the beamer and off you go.
As long as your gig is at Berlin I offer you to help out with a computer doing some blank unattended visuals.

stay tuned

"Beyond the mind eye" look very outdated, like a 1991 student project, be careful. Maybe Microcosmos would be a nice idea, its all incredible close-up in the insects world. Very nice for slowly turning knobs!!

What about Baraka?

mmm... There was another one recently with amazing footage but I cant remember the title...

Visually I prefer Baraka, but you cannot mention that film without it's important predecessor:
Koyaanisqatsi

Very pleased with how it all worked out, and special thx to HiEnergy for providing the Laptop!

I chose the microcosmos vid, and whats funny about it is that the whole audience thought I had synchronized it with the audio. There were several moments that just fit very well it seems (so they tell me, haha, wasnt watching the movie). Like in the last scene, where I played "Riders on the storm", when the rain dropped in. And some other moments. So thx for the suggestion, worked out nicely!

My pleasure!

This was a very nice live session. Well done, Grappadura!

The movie was really chosen wisely. The coincidence with the rain sequence was stunning.

I really enjoyed watching the video and listening to Grappadura's beautiful sounds.

stay tuned
