I currently use 2 Behringer BCR-2000's... and Faderfox for scene selection and crossfader. Hardly use the crossfader tho. 2 of these, almost the cost of the APC-40, would sort me out completely for FULL control of the set's clips (16 channels)

Only thing is I was hoping to start downsizing my live setup.... oh well!!

bit meh really, seems like a nasty-looking at the APC for 1/3 the price. admittedly,for the other 2/3 you could buy the 8 faders and 16 knobs and set them up to do what you want in bomes. But screw that

I am so glad I didn't buy the apc.

Got no car, but my macbook, nanokontrol, wiimote and this launchpad will conveniently fit in my backpackbag.

Only issue still: Nuthing to plug a footpedal in.

notice the 4 middle pads have cut-off corners so it creates a fixed orientation anchor.. so clever..

even i don't expect a super duper built for that money, but the convenience like pepe said, not lugging around a heavy monster and PSUs and stuff, a really quick set up arriving at 3 am in a dark DJ booth that is usually overfilled is already a selling point to me.

yeah looks good to me -I prefer the VCM600 to the APC for knobs etc, so just having a clip matrix like that for $200 is pretty cool

YOu can totally customize each page to any parameter, even the session view can have custom button controllers mapped that trigger not only clips but all assignable parameters .... so regarding launching clips whilst doing filters etc, its easy. you can also go into User modes and trigger drum machines etc whilst making up your own mappings... it really is flexible... and up to 6 units linked !!!! wow.. Remember it also supports other DAW's not just live making it really flexible. You can even map the crossfader to a row of buttons !!!!!!

S4racen....You need to use one to understand how powerful this little machine is, trust me... i have and it really is awesome.

I can see this working well next to the APC when max for live comes out. There's bound to be a step sequencer function for it. The drum triggering in the video, whats going on there? Doesn't seem to be a step sequencer, more like drum pads form drum racks giving trigger feedback with the lights and he records in the beast in another mode. Is it velocity sensitive? Will I buy this only to be stumped by another better controller 4 months later

D'you reckon if you daisy-chained 6 of these you could have a MEGA step sequencer?

If it works as well as it should then I'll support all the cliches that are bound to be stated time and again:

1. A clip laucher? About time!
2. An affordable, available Monome? About time!!!
3. Imagine what this + Max 4 Live will be able to do?!?!
4. Ohmygod! Imagine 6 of these!
5. Glad I held off buying an APC



I'm really interested to see how controlling mixer functions works (can't see the video at the moment as am at work).
