goddammit novation, why must you release things that I HAVE to buy? I'm totally getting this bad mother fucker
then tell me; what would you do with it when all lights are off?SubFunk wrote:ha ha ha, LOL
same matrix, same midi functions, changing banks, etc. just 100% the same (layout, everything) just without the light feedback.

just in time... getting 2 of these instead...

3-djtechtools vid showed the buttons not feeling the best and moving too much
4-NO CONTROL OF DEVICES
complete dealbreaker for me at least, specially #2. I also dont care about monome functionality, but can see how others would like it for seqeuncing and such. As a converted DJ I absolutely need tactile control and the feedback of physical knobs and faders and such. APC is still IMO far and away the best live controller, and my laptop APC and and asst. gear still fits in the right bag and weighs less then LP crates.
There is a niche for this, and a market given the affordable price. However, this has to be used in conjunction with something else though, and if thats your plan get a padkontrol or something with velocity sensitivity. I looked into various novation gear, liked the zero mkII a bit, but the general build quality and feel is sub-par. APC feels like a 1000 piece of equipment i got for 400, and its more functional then 2 of these.
APC should have nothing to fear, and all you who cancelled your orders and are getting this........you'll regret it i think.
playing live with it, like i play my keyboard, or drums.Poster wrote:then tell me; what would you do with it when all lights are off?SubFunk wrote:ha ha ha, LOL

come on you know what I mean...Hidden Driveways wrote:If the APC is too big to move around, what about something the size of a guitar? Is that too big as well?1ino1eum wrote:Anyway the APC is way too big to move it around.
thats what I thought.. so basicly nothing that cannot be done with any other pad or key matrix..SubFunk wrote:playing live with it, like i play my keyboard, or drums.Poster wrote:then tell me; what would you do with it when all lights are off?SubFunk wrote:ha ha ha, LOL

triggering clips and triggering scenes, changing volumes... just without disco.

You want to DJ/perform (whatever) in a club, you dont have lots of time to set up your stuff, there is already CDJ and a mixer on the table... The APC is as big as a mixer. For example, one of my friend wanted to DJ with his korgzero4, the people in charge said "no", use the mixer provided by the club.
Off course if you bring a guitar, that means you do a different type of show, hence, there will be no problem. Same thing, is you are a popular DJ or popular artist, you can bring whatever you want.
but for random performance in club, you prefer something small and USB powered.
now comes the wait...UKRuss wrote:3dot... wrote:ok ... I've just cancelled my APC order..

Nice work here. That's the way.
You do not need Automap installed to run the LP with Live. Though I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to install it... I find it pretty useful for lots of different things....1ino1eum wrote:from what I understand, launchpad will not need automap to work with Live. And, me too, I was disapointed at first with my nocturn, to see that effects were not autmoatically mapped to it. But then I learn to midi map manually, only what I need to map. And I believe it will be the same deal with the launchpad. Execpt mixer and drumrack, there is another page called user 2 that you can midi map yourself.littlelosthorse wrote:I have a question!!!!
This is an absolute deal breaker for me!
I was *massively* dissapointed to find out the novations automap 3 pro software cannot automap to native live devices. However, this new launchpad thing comes with automap and says that it controls lives devices - - - does this mean that we will finally be able to use automap on native live devices???
I still love my APC, cause I have nothing to map. And for me that's great cause I really hate mapping stuff when "I-want-to-make-music-and-use-my-effects-but-I-need-to-midi-map-everything-first".
Anyway the APC is way too big to move it around. for me it's like a personal mixing desk.
And the launchpad looks super intersting to take with your laptop in your bag. And it's cheap.
