Can PCI card and firewire/usb interface be used together?

Post by MusicManic » Fri Oct 02, 2009 2:22 am

I've been using the 2 inputs of my 1212m Emu sound card and wanted to add an input or two with a firewire or usb interface. I haven't bought the interface yet. Can an interface's inputs be used at the same time as the sound card's inputs in Live 7? Anyone have experience with this setup?
Thanks,
Jeff

Both will appear in Preferences as selectable as your I/O devices but only one can be selected at a time for audio. Unlike MIDI where your various devices are available concurrently. Suggest you purchase a breakout box with as many inputs as you need, there are plenty on the market. I've had a good experience using the Edirol M-16DX, but you'll be best looking for something to match your requirements.

Oh. That's a shame, cluesome, but thanks for informing me. I'll look for a breakout box.
