Fav iPhone Music Apps Which Complement Live

Post by Abzurd » Sun Oct 11, 2009 9:34 am

There are allot of crapy music making iphone apps out there & I was wondering what are some of the best iphone apps, for music creation, which enhance your or add to your music creation experience with Live.

I'm sure some folks will have a fav synth or control app or something.

I just started experimenting with Star6 & it's not to shabby. http://www.agilepartners.com/apps/star6

For me it's much better than 'ok'.
It has become my favorite controller and
with the new labels it's even better !
And it's nearly free...

+1 Jasuto. Just got it yesterday and it rules. Modular fun, great sound. There's a VST with it also but it's still being developed and i haven't tried it yet. When it's all sorted it will be a steal.

I haven't taken the time to figure out Touch OSC but I should.

Check out Idrum (izotope)
You can make beats with it, load in your own samples
and synchronize the beats/composition with the vst plugin
and make further edits whitin ableton.

Some elements (I'm only sure about toggle buttons) react when you release
them, not when you touch them. That could of course cause some "delay" when
you tap the button slowly. Apart from that there is no noticable delay
for me...

Bebot is great!! Although my girlfriend gets super pissed when i plug it in the car and go nuts for a drive.
Great sounding synth. Havent recorded it into live but it has a good feel to it that would be useful "live"

Same here. In fact I've found it to be quite responsive. The only caveat is that it is quite cumbersome to implement in PC land. That Pd proggy is crude and then my PC's IP address changes.

I had the IP problem before a gig and didn't know about it.
But I found out before it was too late. I always use the
PC part of iRemote Suite to show my IP - it's faster than
digging in the network preferences...

I don't use PD, but Reaktor and/or GlovePie. Reaktor works fine,
but can't send strings, so you can't change the labels via OSC.
GlovePie is great, script writing instead of modular graphics,
but very easy !
