^ I hear ya, but all those Alesis models you listed would be considered an upgrade from my Multi Mix 8.
Its kinda like me talking about my Ford Escort and you talking about your Ford Mustang. Yeah they're both Fords buuuuUt....
For me the frustration is that I have to fix it - again.
Its not that I can't.
Its that I don't wanna...
Its that I shouldn't have to - again.
I think I paid my dues with this product. The clean install on my laptop works great. All the clean installs work great. Its the updates that kill it. Thats not right. I suppose one could argue "then don't update".
whatever.
For what its worth the latest update seems to have the best interface and controls that the model has had. It removed some of the lower buffer settings - everything lower than 224 but there could be a good reason for that. I used to hop between 192 and 256. If there was a hic-up I would just change the buffer and rock on. When that locks the computer up and knocks out Live in the process it pisses me off. Then, when I restart I have to uninstall, restart, reinstall the device, set it back up in Live, freeze, reboot, uninstall device, reinstall device, set back up in Live, bite lip, hang on edge of seat, finally get back to... to... what was that I was doing again? oh yeah working on this track...
Fuck that. If this TC does me the same way I'll grab the Firebox, if the Firebox does me the same way I'll say to myself - "what the hell have you been doing wrong?"
Besides, like I mentioned... the TC has made a better sounding recording. Ultimately ease of use and the best quality are what we upgrade or migrate for right?
