Skipped out on firewire again for the books'?

Weak.

And once again newer & sexier products to make us hate
our salary even more & urge the consumer to rather buy a $100 handgun &
walk out of a Apple store w/ $10,000 worth of goodies.

think of it as an investment

That one is sick. The new iMacs are a win. The new MacBooks are a fail. It's nice to see the Mini get an update. Apple has yet to make a mouse that isn't hideous to use... I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope that the new one is any good.

I'd get one i7, but the inability to use Uad cards with an iMac is offputting.

The new Macbook is perfect for who it's for.

But hey, for $200 more you can get a MacBook Pro 13" which has Firewire, an SD card slot, Aluminum body, will hold 8GB of Ram, is a tad lighter, and will take a Solid State drive.

Looky

I got one of these a few weeks ago, it's pretty awesome.

I wonder how the magic mouse will compare. Pretty stupid name though.

they look good and i think the firewire 'issue' is a pure marketing strategy to push people towards the MBPs
when i bought my MBP the difference to my girlfriends MB was so tiny for so much more money... and it was just little convenient things, like backlight keys, separate graphic memory (not such a biggy for audio) and 15" screen.

now firewire is 'only' 200 dollars away... plus a few already mentioned advantages...

i think it's 'fair' from a company's view.
