"splitting the atom" by Massive Attack
"splitting the atom" by Massive Attack
Heard them playing it live yesterday in Cologne. it was the first encore and I couldn't? believe that Massive Attack can write such a mediocre song. Sad. The keyboard "melody" is really getting on my nerves... I suppose they tried to write a cool portishead style song.
The other new songs they played were'nt very convincing neither, hm...

the show in Cologne was great, by the way, a wall of sound. and they combined the LED lightshow from their last tour, which was too abstract IMHO, with the political statements from the tour before now. Very impressive, and it rocked!

I think the EP they put out is great...Massive Attack is one of the finest imo. Can't wait till they release their next full album

personally-
I think it has been all down hill after mezzanine (a phenomenally inspiring album)

such is life, thing is they have greatness in them and they could have 1000s of tunes we'll never even here that would blow us away you just never know it's all peaks and valleys. I had to learn that the hard way when I first heard this album by Al Green, he was just making a comback and had put out this album that sounded like some shit destinys child would put out, that shit almost killed me then I saw an interview with him explaining that he was trying to be hip and now you know it broke my heart, these great artist need to stop listening to everybody else and just do their thang.
