launchpad.. even if i had sufficient cash for the apc40 or both even.
i just dont want all my controls lumped together like they are on the apc. id prefer a combination. i.e. nocturn padkontol and launchpad.

i have a 40 and launchpad on order to replace it, not augment. Is there actually a reason to keep both other than "they are cool" (which i use often as an excuse but tends to waste money)

Well, it does serve as a justification for those who already invested in the APC40 to balk at those who like the Launchpad better by saying "Get a job you losers and buy both like I am!"jsg4z wrote:i have a 40 and launchpad on order to replace it, not augment. Re: Akai APC40 vs Novation Launchpad
if you need other people to tell you what the gear is used for you probably shouldn't buy it.
APC - studio controller
LP - max4Live plaything
apparently I hurt mutant's feeling, poor little guy. that guy's post about the APC retiring was completely retarded. we finally get custom controllers and don't have to ask about Henke's box and the fuckwit whines we have too many controllers. what a 'tard. glad I offended you, get a job dumbass.

Re: Akai APC40 vs Novation Launchpad
dude, i was looking for some creative ideas not "RTFM". i know what they do and a lot seems redundant to me. so in the interest of studio space i want to pick one.

See what I mean, jsg4z?
LP - portable, bus-powered controller with a better grid matrix that plays well with others knobs and faders for a sensible modular setup.
APC - overweight, prematurely aged controller who tried to do too much and going through a mid-life crisis since it has no template editor.Tone Deft wrote:if you need other people to tell you what the gear is used for you probably shouldn't buy it.

Nope. Why would my feelings be hurt by this? I just think it's funny to see all the APC40 fanboys acting like little whiny brats anytime people point out why they prefer the Launchpad over the APC.Tone Deft wrote:apparently I hurt mutant's feeling, poor little guy. that guy's post about the APC retiring was completely retarded. we finally get custom controllers and don't have to ask about Henke's box and the fuckwit whines we have too many controllers. what a 'tard. glad I offended you, get a job dumbass.

Re: Akai APC40 vs Novation Launchpad
i agree with Tone as far as having both that will be great!!
Re: Akai APC40 vs Novation Launchpad
mutant - no, you're just an asshole trying to start fights.
we've pined for Henke's custom controller for years, now we've got several custom Live controllers to choose from, fucking awesome! then dumbasses like yourself and reflective(?? that was the guy's name, right??) want to turn this into a flame war of controllers. all controllers are welcome FFS. I see the APC as sitting on my desk for level controls and general control over Live. I see the LP as tethered to my laptop with a USB cable, sitting in my lap, being held in the air, doing weird shit with max4Live. for detailed knob twiddling I use my BCR in manual map mode. this is how I roll, we all play with Live differently. you're the one limiting what people should use, I welcome and want it all.
for the record, I didn't need a job to pay for either, both were gifts. suck on that beyotch!! HA HA!!
I disagree with your judgment but absolutely do not want to exchange posts with an asshole like you, there are plenty of other assholes to choose from without the whiny attitude. you're just bitter. wow. lighten up, these are good things.
