I was wondering if anyone can offer any assistance. I realize that Launchpad will not show up in control surfaces on Live unless I have 8.0.8, but shouldn't it still work with 8.0.5??? My APC40 works fine, but I can not get the Launchpad to work for the life of me. A few lights turn on, but no response at all.
Does anyone have a clue how to get the Launchpad working on 8.0.5. I would rather not install 8.0.8 because of some of the bug issues people are having with it and the APC40.
Thanks in advance!
Zach

you could try the 8.0.6 that comes on the disc with launchpad. Should be a normal live lite. which is the same programm as live, If you have live installed on the computer, it should recognize this and use the unlock/preferences/library and run as the full version.
Don't know about the state of the apc bug on 8.0.6 though

That was my fear. If I installed the 8.0.6 Live Launchpad edition on the disk, would it replace my full Live Suite version???
If not, then I'll sit on 8.0.6 until the bugs are worked out in 8.0.8 or 8.0.9 is released.
I wish I would have known Launchpad was not compatible with 8.0.5.

omg just upgrade

actually live doesn't upgrade the programm you allready have installed, it installs a new version of the programm in a different folder c:/program files/ableton/Live 8.0.x or the equivelent on mac. So you could have 8.0.1, 8.0.2, 8.0.3, ..., 8.0.8 all installed at the same time. (I allways keep the last 2 versions installed - currently 8.0.5 & 8.0.8 - so I know I still have a working copy installed, even if an upgrade comes with a bug)
But when you install a new one, it checks if you allready have a copy installed, and takes the info from the unlock.cfg to set which features/instruments are unlocked, and the preferences.cfg to set your library location and other thing set in the preferences.
