Launchpad for Ableton 7

Hey abes.

My launchpad just shipped to and I'm giggling like a small girl already.
However, I've heard that Launchpad is not compatible with Ableton 7.0.16, is this true?
If it's not compatible, Ableton can expect to hear a lot of complaining.

You are correct it wont work, but apparently there will be an update "soon"

That's bullshit AND cheating the customers.
When Ableton say that the Launchpad is supported, it should be.

Can the ableton team give any clues on when this update will be released?
I'm supposed to play in a bigger production, and cannot wait for long.

Yeah, I don't wanna be a winer and don't like strong words, but I'm disappointed.

I want the launchpad and in time I will upgrade to Live 8, but this is not fair.
Ableton/ Novation misled me and a lot of other customers.

I agree. This is really misleading in form of advertising, I might return it, if the update doesn't arrive in a week.

I got my LaunchPad today and found this out also so just waiting.

I wonder if its possible to test it out on the Live 8 copy they provide in the box if I have live 7 installed or will this mess things up on the Mac OSX that is. I have this little thought in my head that Live 8 rather than just the program will try to upgrade other files and render Live 7 unusable.

I had such a hassle over the past two days trying to get my Launchpad working with Ableton 7 and wished there had been an official announcement sooner regarding the fact Live 7 users needed to wait for an update despite the Launchpad box saying it worked fine with Ableton 7 already

Still, I guess Ableton can't control the Novation Launchpad dates but the availability date was well publicised.(update hopefully schedueld for 9th November I think)

The Ableton live 8 Launchpad edition is very cut down and isn't really a suitable alternative for me in the interim so I've ended up upgrading to 8 to get past this issue as need something timely.

Any Live 7 users wanting to use the Launchpad live edition in the interim - please remember to back up your work as the Launchpad edition (a cut down live 8 version) will update them so they won't be openable in Live 7 anymore.

Ableton Live lite 7 - Don't think Launchpad works with that either at present - but I'm sure Ableton will clarify soon

So I guess I'd better install the upgrade now and get moving - it'll be nice to get the features back I trialled during the live 8 beta, I'm sure I'll have a few questions for you all so bear with me

Where did the 9th Nov date come from? So far Ableton just say "soon" but not sure how soon. If I have to wait much longer I may be tempted to upgrade.
