ableton 8.0.8 exporting audio problem

hi all

a friend of mine has a 8.0.8 running on windows 7.

a while ago we were working on a track and it somehow crashed. then after relaunching the ableton it saved the track.
but now when we try to export it as an audio file, it always stucks at 10-15% and crashes.
it fully plays in ableton but it cant export the song to an audio file.
is there a way to recover the song?

Here's a couple of ideas:
- Try opening it with a later version of Live
- Try exporting to a different file format
- Disable a few plugins in your song and try exporting again.
