Re: 7up & max4live
Yes, cool. Been following the progress of the new 2.0.
The problem is that if you have a Launchpad you have to do some voodoo with M4L in order to get it to work with any of these monome based patches.
I've yet to see any vid (aka PROOF) in which someone is using an LP WITH a monome-based M4L patch. In fact, I don't think there are any monome-based patches yet available for M4L, lol.
Until I know for sure that the LP will work with these, I'm holding off on M4L.

Re: 7up & max4live
Some of the peeps over at the monome forums have gotten the Launchpad to emulate a monome using some sort of OSC wrapper for the launchpad, don't have a Launchpad so I didn't delve any further. It works with mlr and the other standard monome apps apparently.
I presume you could do something similar with to get it to work with 7up but as 7up is a Java app and not a max app I wouldn't have a clue.

Re: 7up & max4live
Just downloaded and started playing with 7up 2.0, big improvement on the old 7up, which I found very finicky.
You just drop all the different devices into tracks in live and play away.

Re: 7up & max4live
yep. works for me. the real deal though will be when you can use the original monome max patches via the launchpad within m4l, so there will be no external apps needed.flogistox wrote:follow this link:

Hmm. Guys, check this out.

I'm interested to hear what's more efficient, what works best: nonome vs this onboard M4L emulator patch.

Re: 7up & max4live
Hello
i have a problem setting up my launchpad with 7up.
after following all instructions that comes with 7up the big 7 will not showing on my launchpad.
i am on win xp sp3 and using 7up ver.2.1 and max runtime 5.07/5.1 ,nonome launchpad edition 1.9 and max for live.
the connection between the launchpad seems to be ok (pressing user2 buttom twice the first 4 buttoms are coloured)
but after starting 7up in live the launchpad will show me no 7.
in the launchpad edition i typed in prefix : /7up. osc host:8000 osc listen :8080.must this be twisted on 7up connections?
i hope somebody can tell me the whole story about it.
many thanks for any help in advance.

Re: 7up & max4live
You don't need the slash in the prefix, it gets put there automatically. I don't know if that will fix things, but it's the first thing that popped out at me.Fensch wrote:

Re: 7up & max4live
could you tell me please which java-thing you mean? I also first had no 7 on the LP, but then I installed java 6Fensch wrote:Hello

and now the 7 comes up but the LEDs have a bad delay and also when i start Live and press stop again, the LP/nonome keeps running for a few seconds and when I play 7up it has a very bad response and glitches.
Also in the monome-forums they say "choose multicolordevice" but in my 7up (v2.0.1) dropdown is no such thing only the monomes.
Are there some special settings to be made in java or in the max-preferences.txt or some files to be copied into any folder in order to get that work (except that in the 7up supporting-folder), cause now the LP is very un-responsive with 7up and not useful, for me at least.
Has someone running 7up really tight?
