[OT] #FF0000 looks warmer in MS Paint than in Photoshop
[OT] #FF0000 looks warmer in MS Paint than in Photoshop
I recently noticed that the red color looks warmer, deeper, in MS Paint than in Photoshop
Here are two squares of FF0000 red, the first made in Photoshop, the other in Paint.
Can anybody explain why? Could that mean that Paint's rendering engine is superior to Photoshop's?

Regardless that's besides the point, might want to check if your photoshop is using a different color space/icc profile, other than the one of your monitor.

If you would have looked at the path of the picture, you would have seen it's the same picture twice.

What a stupid test!
Every child knows that a red circle is the wrong color for such a test. You need to do it with a random color and change the colors in real time. The test as it is here says absolutely nothing about color quality.

Re: [OT] #FF0000 looks warmer in MS Paint than in Photoshop
It's obviously because MS Paint uses fixed-point processing as opposed to floating point in PS.
MS Paint was always edgier anyway - probably due to it's poor anti-aliasing abilities.

Both of those squares pass the phase cancel test, so they must be identical.
