I hate improvised music

I have enough of 'glitch random boring static improvisational' performance music.I love experimental music and I love jazz, but I think 98% of the so called one men 'improvised music' is boring as hell. Start your linear sequencer and bring something to perfection. Music isn't interesting just because you do something live.

Now feel free to agree or disagree.

Does this include free improvisation? or do you mean 'improvised electronic music made with a zillion plugins without having any idea on what you're doing?' :)

I play in a free improvisation band called Islak Köpek (Turkish for 'wet dog'). I play instruments that I designed in Live with Wii controllers. You can listen to some of the music here and let me know what you think. It's perfectly ok if you hate it. As far as I am concerned, it's perfectly ok for someone to have an educated negative opinion on something.

i think he means that, or at least that is where my answer fits.

twiddle, twirk, crackle, slip, zoosh, frrrck, zoing, plugin efx nonsense over a beat. ARRRGGGHHH!!!

but i guess i don't smoke enough dope anymore.

well I just jump in to ask any advice for where to find good plugins so as to be able to glitch everything realtime ala aphex twin, I have tried dblue glitch but it's really complex, and beat repeat I don't understand.

so if you guys have some links to good glitch plugins this is cool because my music is actually boring when live shows

thanks!

What I mean by free improvisation is not a 'way of making music' but a genre and it's generally an acoustic/electric music, with some very good electronics in it as well. Some relevant names: Peter Bröztmann, Evan Parker, Michel Doneda, Han Bennink, John Zorn and many more... so I don't think he means that! :D

It depends. I have seen Fennez play live and find his music really exciting. There does have to be something creative and interesting in it. Some thought gone/going into it. An interesting way of using sounds together , using timbre and frequency and sound objects in a way which enhances or clashes in such a way as to make the ears and the mind take notice and be invigorated.
Its an interesting discussion. i was thinking about similar things today when i was making noise.
The tracks above i can't seem to play without buying. any chance of making a couple available free?
Cheers
z

that is the key for me... i just can't stand that random tweak, twiddle noise creating / manipulating efx nonsense over a simple beat without any clue/idea or direction.
