APC40 silicone skin?
APC40 silicone skin?
Hi,
You know the silicone skins you can put on your keyboard to protect from dust, spills, and dirt? Does anyone make one of these for the APC40? I keep it covered when I'm not using it but I have so much dust in my house and was thinking if such a thing exists, I would love one. I know the knobs and faders probably would have to have holes cut out, but the rest would be able to sit under the silcone if it was formed like they do the keyboard skins. I cant find one anywhere. Is this something other people would be interested in or am I just a little obsessive?

Don't know about skin, but how about cleaning once in a while, that might help.wobbleLF wrote:Hi, I have so much dust in my house

I think skins for MIDI controllers would be pretty tight...
Especially with some rad designs on them.
and sports teams

i dont really understand why ppl think this is a strange thing to want. obsessive about not getting dust in my equipment maybe, but whats wrong with that? the plain clear silicone skin i have on my keyboard has saved it from a spill, lots of dust and dirt, dog hair, etc. i dont really think i want a sports team logo on it. i dont even want a color. plain ole clear will do just fine.

+1 and very regular cleaning should do the trick. or do you have cling film permanently wrapped around your sofas as well?chapelier fou wrote:I just cover my stuff when I don't use it.
i mean in all fairness to take care of stuff, but it's there for use, you know?

i have said this a couple of times... i do clean my house alot but i also see how much the skins they make for keyboards actually protect the keyboards. when you take the skins off you can see dirt from fingers, dog hair and lots of dust. the spill factor is the main thing though. if some idiot comes and stands by you when your djing and leans in to talk, their drinks often lean in also. ive had to tell people a couple times to back off bcz when i look down, their drink is dangerously close to my equipment.
on the weekends, i use the equipment pretty much all the time so it isnt covered then-and the dogs are running all over the house stirring everything up. i find by the end of the weekend that their is a visible layer of dust on everything.
i guess my desire for something like this is just a bit of obsession with protecting my equipment based on other peoples responses. so yea- i guess they wont be making something like this for the masses. but you can bet if i ever find one i will be running back here to say "SEE! I'm not the only one!"
