This is not fanatisism, but simply someone who is 100% pleased with owning a great computer.
I almost built a Pc, but took a chance with an "overpriced" "fan boy" computer.
Any one considering a Mac or Pc for their next music computer, really ought to consider a Mac.

I quit building PC in 2006. Good decision. No regrets.
Quit buying that main-board that allowed 20% overclock
to reach the nominal speed of a CPU costing 200 Euros more...
finding the right RAM cocktail or BIOS setup... what a waste.
Even a PC without steroids today is perfectly capable of being used
as a DAW. However like you said, I'm no fan boy. I probably have bought
an overpriced piece of hardware but I'm very happy I did it because the
time I didn't lost in building it turned out to be making music time with my iMac.
However I do not call retarded PC owners. Simply I do not understand those with unnecessary overclocking.
with today's multi core CPU there's really no need for that.
A piece of hardware without OS is nothing. Mac OS X is even slower but so powerful and stable
that is really worth the difference.

yes. it's very easy to do. to hit 4+ ghz you dont need anything fancy. you just need to read a little.

I actually have a simple rule:

Desktops. I always go PC. Without question. Mac desktops, even with the same clock and RAM spec, still can't fucking match the PC equivalent when it comes to something like the performance of the entire Adobe suite. Fuck me. It's ridiculous.

Laptops. Always Mac. PC laptops aren't worth a fucking stone age turd. None of them. They all fucking suck. Constant shit going wrong with them. I've used them all, and they suck my balls. Finally switched to a MacBook 2 years ago after hating Macs for 15+ years. I'll never go back. lol.

I said earlier that I was backing out of this thread, but as a mac user who comes here once in a while to try to read and pass along interesting stuff, I have to say that you are an absolute fucking retard for starting this thread, and you should change the thread name already so that this pile of wasted pixels can drift to the bottom of the page and out of sight and the idiots in this thread who are all "blah computer is better, your computer sucks" can get back to bickering about something less inflammatory to nerds, like abortion and civil rights.
