I am travelling back to Uckfield from Sheffield in an hour or so. I have to walk back from the station when i get home, after dark, wearing a suit and some wicker shoes...

Indeed. Saw this pic last night.
You can pick out noticeable cities where the snow is less dense due to it being cleared quicker, urban heat etc.
Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, London.

it is cool to have a nice cold winter for once, rather than just rain and the occasional frost. The air quality is great.

Just climbed a frozen waterfall in that internationally renowned ice climbing venue, the Rhondda valley.

I've just called the council to ask when they will be able to collect my rubbish and got an answerphone message saying the office is closed because of the snow.

I wish I could use that excuse...

the only annoying thing about this weather is drivers who are not confident enough to drive, but insist on driving anyway.

you are the ones causing the accidents! get off the road!

Amsterdam is one of the prettiest places in the world (though the weather sucks) the snow makes it even more so.
