Loosening up my Novation Nocturn?

I want to use the crossfader like an actual crossfader - is that too much to ask?

Is WD40 a terrible idea? Its way to slow right now!!!

i don't even know what a novation nocturn is but: plastic + electronics + solvents = bad idea
