?? the best ? is there one that has an inbuild powersupply and a real chord with a plug? i would like such an unit...

beside that you might better ask if there are any hubs that are known to be really bad.. At least I got the impression that theese days most hubs work ok..

You maybe shouldnt go for the cheapest china noname.. you could end up with an relabeld USB1.0 Hub

I tried looking the post up on DJ TECH TOOLS, there's an extended thread on there about this. It was pretty good.

I use a Belkin 7 port, powered of course. Works fine with an APC 40, Launchpad, MPD32, PadKontrol, Nocturn, mouse, and a drive. I only use the drive for back-ups however. Everything works fine.

In the time it took you to complain you could have given your experience. Don't click on the topic if you are so annoyed by it.

My parents bought me a USB hub for Christmas with a model Ferrari built onto the top of it. Just what I wanted

anybody ever come along a lightwight usb hub with internal power supply? all theese socket power supplyy are a real danger for live shows.. i like to eliminat them totaly without adding too much wight..

probably i ve to build my own unit that is audio inreface controler and power supply in one unit.. with power supply prorts for all theese 9V machines ... such a unit can be quite heavy than..
I might throw in an old LXP board aswell .. and this all is the case for the laptop.. james bond like ;-)

a good projekt for the christmas holydays :-(

Why is that? Better power, better throughput, or both? Or something else?

I've got a couple of no-name hubs that I really like: 7-ports, stackable, LEDs at the front and all connections at the back. Just how I like 'em!

But despite being powered, they sometimes seems to struggle with providing enough power. After swapping devices around a bit, I've found that my mouse goes flaky when my phone is charging/synchronising. (Too many devices without their own PSUs on one hub, I guess...)

Maybe I should just get another one and spread things around a bit. Or maybe I should replace them with D-Links...

^^^, it is just that belkin and d-link are proven quality brands... no one says you can't be lucky with a no name product...

if someone asks me, i also recommend those, they are pretty save to work without a headache. that is all really.
(belkin can be interesting, because they have some models with unusual designs, that can come in handy, depending on your setup / need and space)

belkin 7 port usb 2.0 hub.. i have 3 of them and work like a charm.. but if you use MAC, don't be fooled and get the MAC version and pay extra ten dollars (i saw this at comp USA while they were still in business), it's the same shit except for the packaging..

typically usb hubs use usb cables and firewire hubs using firewire cables.

Thanks, I was looking at the Belkin 7 on their website and I saw a firewire cable in the picture.
