Oh wow, just wandered over from the Lounge and found this General section where apparently people are discussing my favorite software, Ableton Live! How cool that there is a whole forum devoted to Live! I'll definitely be stopping in from time to time to help out with n00b questions and comment on M4L runtime.

The same psychos who yell and scream at each other also help out newbs when they have downtime between flame wars.

However, as long as you're not cracking down on the freedom here then I think the vibe will survive.
+1

i got used to the lounge already, BUT i prefer one giant chaos, this way (now) to much important stuff slips, yes important stuff, things you do not come across in an organised and well filed german system.

I hardly visit General anymore. Like I said before the change, the OT is what drives me here, but I stick around to help out.

I'm off both forums and I propose that we all keep posting in this thread about totally unrelated shit.

Wow, the forum structure change is finally breaking my Ableton Forum habit after 7 years! I hardly visit anymore! Hooray for greater productivity!

Maybe it's just a fluke this morning, but it seems like 0 Reply posts on the General forum are becoming more common.

Also please do something with the forum "Search"

phpBB has a very cool engine!
i cant understand why you removed some useful features! (or is it a very old version?)

This is how the official phpbb search is
http://www.phpbb.com/community/search.p ... d9fccd3137

you can ...

Search within:
Post subjects and message text
Message text only
Topic titles only
First post of topics only

*does ableton use the latest phpbb version?

**general could be renamed simply to live general
While we're making feature requests, it would be great if we could have a mobile-friendly version of the forum. I've been using Tapatalk for iPhone/Android and soon BB apparently, which is a GREAT way to read a supported forum - basically you get the forum in an app. Free version is read only though & at €2.40 for posting/PMing functionality I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives.
+1 for something like tapatalk or even RSS.
