novation Remote SL MKII: LED rings and buttons not lit

I wonder why the LED rings and buttons aren't lit when I use the "ableton" template of the remote SL. Is this normal? They are lit when I try other templates, so what's the problem with the ableton template? I set everything up like it is described in the novation DAW setup guide. not using automap but "advanced mode" (novation's nomenclature is getting more and more confusing ...)

I think it's a bug which was fixed in beta version 8.1.2b3. Details here http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=134917

In 8.1.1 LED don't give feedback using ableton template however in beta vesion it works fine.

buttons are lit with the beta, great! I didn't suspect Live to be the problem...
