Real Acoustic Drums

Hi everyone.

Remember me? :)

It's been some while and i still have questions. :)

It might sound funny , but i understood one thing about drums.

Mostly i don't like acoustic drums because they are too loud and too TISHHHSHSHSH TISHHHH ya know?
Too hard i think.

So i loved the electronic drums a lot better because you can program any samples you want and play them.
So i did get a lot of samples that are electronic and all.
But the funny part is that they don't sound right.
I mean they don't have the feeling.

It's a bit complicated to explain so i will try my best.

When you play real acoustic drums they are too loud and too harsh which is the part that i don't like much.
I like when the sound is a lot more softer.

But without those hard hitting harsh drums you won't get the perfect audio ya know?

It's like when you use computer-electronic drums , they are great but they don't feel real and don't have that soul in them.
But acoustic drums do have that.

It's like when you put the acoustic drums with some bass , it gets nasty!
I mean , it has the flow , the trance , the soul ya know?

So this is what i understood after a large number of experiments in my music and got it.
Funny is that i didn't agree with that before.

So what i want to ask is for realistic drum vst or acoustic drum sample packs.
I really want the best sounding ones.
The ones that are really really close to the original!

I know there is a lot of them , but searching through everything there is will be scary.

So can someone help me out? Please :))))

If you want the most realistic, go for "Addictive Drums." At least for all drums except metal. If you want metal, I recommend Drum Kit from Hell. ItSounds more like my Kit. But for most styles, Addictive drums is THE best. The way you handle the mics and such is just like tracked drums.

I've been using the Toontrack superior 2.0
I'm really happy with the results, Only complaint I have is the cymbals, don't really like them. But thats just me ;)

BFD and Superior will provide the best sampling (and therefore potential sound), but require some good mixing skills because the treatment of the drums tends to be a bit raw, like you just recorded them in the studio with lots of mikes. Addictive drums is easier to use but the quality of the samples is a little less, but they have provided some nice default post processing of the drum sounds so if you are plug'n'play they might be the ones to go to. Most people won't be able to tell the difference between the quality levels and so enjoy Addictive Drums since it has a great interface.
