Information on the Depeche Mode live processing set up?
Information on the Depeche Mode live processing set up?
I'm looking to find out more about the hardware that Depeche Mode was using to process their drums in concert through Ableton Live.
Here is the video link... http://www.ableton.com/movies?type=arti ... utostart=y
I'm wondering can this be done on a laptop? Can you get 14 ins and 24 outs running reliably on a laptop or do you need a desktop? What was DM using? What were they using for the audio interface as well?
Does anyone know, or have any experience with this type of set up? It would be great to be able to ask Kerry Hopwood what he would recommend.
Any help would be appreciated.

RME PC card MADI might be good for the job - very expensive though.
Nothing to see here - move along!

If you are looking at audio interface, some brands to look at focusrite, PreSonus, and TC Electronic. I presonally have the focusrite saffice pro 24. The pro 24 gives me 16 in and 8 out.
If there is a certain spec you are looking for there should be an audio interface that would match it. Just it is going to be expensive.

Isnt that a PCI/PCI Express for a desktop and not a laptop or is there a laptop version too?3phase wrote:a normal hammerfall dsp is doing 18 I/O without problems
All of their PC card/PCI/PCIE audio interfaces are good for this - hardware optimisied for very low lattency and CPU use, so figured it might help a laptop trying to do real time processing of lots of channels.
