hi all,

i saw this machine for 1750€ new.
it has an amd athlon 1,5Ghz processor, 512Mb ram (siemens), 40Gb HD (toshiba), cd-rw/dvd, 15" screen, windows XP and other software, 2 year warranty, the usual slots/connexions/modem...

i have to know tuesday night if this machine is ok to run LIVE. is it cheap? is it well built? ...

a friend in financial distress offered me his 500Mhz iBook, 256 Mb for 1100€, but the screen is so small, and i'll have to get some extra memory for this machine. i have a b/w G3 450Mhz at home, but buying a windows machine doesn't frighten me that much

thanks for your input, guys!
remember, i have to know really soon.

Neil,

Which Gateway did you get - I have been looking into them (the 450 & 600 series) and would very much like to hear what your experience will be like. Feel free to private message me.

High latency with regards to audio or midi? Internal sound or usb audio?

Using the internal soundcard is not a viable option, but if he was getting high latency using a USB audio device, that would be a cause for concern.
