Post by sps1 » Wed Nov 03, 2004 2:52 am

What is the quickest way to record about 20 tracks of audio out of Ableton Live into Protools?

set 20 protools track in rewire to ableton, numbered so each track will monitor a different live channel, launch your live session, arm each protools track, press record :D

There are problems with the above 2 methods;
1. There's no way to import a Live session into Pro Tools
2. When Live is used as a rewire slave, you can't use vst plugins in Live, so if you're song contains any, this is not an option for you.

Probably the only way to do it is to solo each track and render them out one at a time.
For the sends, you'll have to set the tracks involved from 'master out', to 'sends only'.

I would really love Ableton to sort this out. I have to go through this process quite often and its a real PITA!
Would love to hear anyone elses methods of exporting a song...

shortwave.

Does this work??? I tried this and I couldnt get PT to record the tracks. I also tried to bounce them to disc and all of my tracks ended up with a crazy metallic sound on them.

I tried to do this but was unsucessful. I got all of the tracks from Live bussed into Protools and they are playing and registering and metering ect.. but I cannot record them. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone explain the exact setup on how to do this?
