This behaviour has kept me from using scenes more, you can't switch back and forth during a live set effectively.

I also have the MK and havent been more happier with it ever since I purchased Lc Xmu 2.0 Mackie Emulation Control for LIVE 5 only one of the LIVE versions. Do a search Lc Xmu and the man is John P. He has a great forum just like this one and will respond very quickly to all questions......Just read your LIVE 5 manual on the Mackie Control and then try his demo for the MCE. Wow and if you use LOgic or REason you can have the Lc Xmu switch between software with a click of the h key on the keyboard. Its amazing it lets the MK do things that was never possible without the Emulator. I didnt want to pay for it but its been worth it. I can also set up my UC33e for MCE as well but I set it up to control effects on the fly not that you cant do this with the MK MCE but you just have to hit a couple buttons to get to the effects with the MK. Just try the demo and you will be hooked. It lets you have Feedback on the lcd screens aswell even 3rd party VST's will be listed on the screen as say supertrigger its says sptri or something like that you know what i mean. it has soft take over so no more parameter jumps. I love it if i want to call up a LIve preset and control the parameters via the MK its all laid out everyone of the parameters on the encoders tou just have to hit pad 15 and 16 they are the page left and right buttons.....

not sure if i got the problem right well, but i use http://www.wthor.com/microkontrol/ for my microkontrol as long as there ain´t a real native-implement.

the encoders now work endless (set the behaviour correctly in live), and i don´t care about the empty and useless displays.

This issues would be easily solved if Live supported Native Mode, which all Korg gear uses now. In regular mode (play mode) Microkontrol behaves like a normal 0-127 midi controller but in native mode it will work like a true relative controller in +1/-1 increments. you can try this behabiuor in supported hosts such as Logic Pro or Reason. I hope Ableton listens to Korg uses and implements native mode in Live 6 for us, as well as they did with Mackie Control compatible surfaces users.

I just purchased LC Xmu after trying the demo with my Korg microKONTROL and live 5. Wow! That software is dirt cheap for what it does, and has worked just great so far. It takes some time to learn all the mappings but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. You can even drop out of Native Mode and back easily.

Because of the absolute controllers and the lack of support for Korg Native Mode in Live I was even slightly regretting the purchase of the mK, but definitely not anymore. Kudos to John Pitcairn for creating LC Xmu.

Even so, I think Korg Native Mode support in Live would still be an important and worthwhile addition.

It's certainly still a possibility, though I can't say I've been deluged with expressions of interest. Documenting and supporting a Windows version would be fairly non-trivial, and I'd need to buy suitable hardware to port and test on, so I might look into soliciting small advance donations (like the Bome developer is currently doing for a Mac port).

Yes John, we would all like a ported version. There is a large amount of people wanting native mode to work in Live or just any other program, this issue has been brought up many times. A little search for microkontrol on this very forums and you can easily see this demand in several threads like:

There's a difference between

A - wanting integrated native support in your app of choice for free or as part of a feature-laden paid update you'd buy anyway, and

B - being willing to pay for a 3rd-party solution that requires you to run a separate app.

So I shouldn't (and don't) assume that lots of users screaming "native support! native support!" on the forum for app X Y or Z automatically translates into sufficient support for a Windows port of LC Xmu...

surely the need of xmu would decrease a little bit with more and more programs supporting the native mode, and there would go some dollars never arriving at home. but why life make a matter of reasons?

yeah i have the Kontrol 49. same thing. i can use one scene only. on the other hand my BCR2000 is the dope. it retains all its settings (with leds that show you where the knobs are set INCLUDING on/offs for the buttons) - and if you move a control with your mouse, it instantly change on the BCR. the behringers are the only controllers i've tried (korg, novatation) that , duh! work!!
