External HD

Years ago I lost hours of work... well no dvd at that time and my cd burner was at the end of its short life.
When I was burning cd's all seemed right at the moment. I could see those bastards were well burned.

Hhhh no! several months later, every cds were badly broken from the start... less than half data were saved from this defective burner

NO worry though, I was hardly making backups in any sense [moreover after this episode]
Ha at least one lovely project was lost... one big lesson

I just dump it all to an external hard drive and call it a day
I don't 'produce.' I write music.

I use a RAID level 5 array to backup everything up. I also periodically backup files to DVD.

External raid mirror for all my working files etc.

Finished masters also go on this drive and also get archived online with www.mozy.com
