not a very important thing: a nicer looking GUI

Post by mr.ergonomics » Wed Apr 07, 2010 7:53 pm

I think this is not a thing with a high priority and I don't want to push into a 'eye candy' direction, but I feel increasing bored by the GUI. Not by the GUI concept and I also like the minimalistic approach, I don't want pseudo realistic skins for the compressor or something like that.

I think the GUI could do much more for a better and faster overview and a bit more elegant wouldn't harm too (I literally hate the automation lines, it's to bulky, but that's just a personal thing :) )

hmm?

Live's UI is one of my favorite parts of the program.

I like the automation lanes myself, unless, of course, I add one to a group track and now it's cluttering everything up as the lane doesn't get folded into the closed folder with the tracks :?
I don't 'produce.' I write music.

I have always despised Live's GUI. Terrible. It looks like it was done by graphic art students armed with markers and stencils. I would love some eye candy.

regarding automation lines, take a look at logics. I really like them. Imho in live they are a bit too bulky when you have many automation points (aka the 'red circles')

Has anyone played with 8.1.3? Is it me or did they clean up the UI a bit (not to the degree that Mr.E was looking for...)?

+1. Minimal, clean and easy to read.

I hate those "photorealistic" skins. Why should softwared look like hardware?

I like the Gui.

Keep it pls.

()I dont think they are going to change it)

I think it looks classic.

In the same way that the ariel font is. . .
I slipped into a daze, whilst I was there I heard the most startling music, it was at once familiar and alien, reassuring and unsettling.

The GUI is fine IMO, it would just be nice if we could choose what exact fonts are used.

Dina 8pt, kthx.

Live's gui is an island of sanity in a sea of gui madness :D

I look at most other products and my eyes are assulted by psuedo-3d, graduated fills, shiny effects
