Has anyone tried the Crane Stand? It's not cheap but the design seems well thought out.

it looks interesting that you can set it up in 2 different ways...

once for 'under' a turntable and more stable for free standing use...

but 159 dollars 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O

for an alloy stand...

When I posted my review on the local PNW forums, a ton of people were recommending the Crane stand. Here's a video where they compare it to the Uberstand:

It does look a little sturdier, but you can see there's still a decent bit of bounce too it. Not sure the little bit of different in sstability is worth twice as much money. They're made in Seattle though, so something I'll likely continue to keep an eye on.

That Crane stand looks sweet but I just bought the uber one to just plop a macbook on. The rest on offer wouldn't work in my dj booth.

Thanks for the review Tarekith

the crane stand looks great except one crappy thing: only of piece at the bottom to hold everything?!
in the video you see it's pretty shakily. 2 pieces at the bottom to hold it would be much better in my opinion.

I got to check one out a couple days ago in person. It IS more stable than the Uberstand, but it's still got a bit of wobble to it. More adjustable, and slightly more sturdy, but heavier too. Not sure it's worth the extra money, but they did say they have a new version coming out soon too.
