Fifty bucks!

It's worth it to me if it works.

Tried iRip, much cheaper, but kept crashing when moving audio files (vs. MP#)

Can't really find free one's for Mac that look good. AVCware won't transfer rating systems and has a GUI bug.

Do you need ALL the features? If you only want to get the music from your iPod back onto your Mac then you can get Senuti which works perfectly. (Just incase you didn't know...Senuti is 'iTunes' spelt backwards - a pretty useless piece of info there :/)

EDIT - The company who makes your original suggestion should be called...'imtooexpensive'. Yes..in answer to your question!

I assumed he is on a Mac as he linked to the Mac version. But yes, Sharepod was my choice on PC, works perfectly and can be stored and run straight off of your iPod!

And Also from Ipod to har drive as backup. I'll check out senuti.

I use iPodDisk. It's free but can be a bit unstable (crashy). You need to have an extension called MacFUSE installed for it to work.

Rockbox that bitch!

Use it like the portable drive that it is (and record, and use real eq, file manage from the player, etc, etc.)
