General Audio Preferences help

Post by Tania Mann » Sun Nov 21, 2004 12:49 pm

Hi
I'm sure this (very silly) question has been asked before, however doing a search did not help me solve my query.............

I'm just going thru the live manual now and I've reached the section where I need to specify the audio driver type

However I'm not familiar with the terminology and so I don't know if my windows based set-up uses MME/DirectX, ASIO or Direct I/O

Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction? Wud be very much appreciated as the manual details how to configure everything assuming you know which option to configure it for..........

ASIO, if you want to use internal card download ASIO4all, otherwise use ASIO of the card ( like Indigo or whatever)

Just out of curiosity are you the Tania Mann that was featured in Future Music a while back?
MacBook Pro M1, 16GB Ram, 1TB.

Dear Tania,

Have you still got the cool old school ghetto blaster that was in one of the FM pictures?

Not that it was the only nice looking thing in the picture!

P.S. I could dig out some classic electro records and you can show me your moves –
break dancing moves that is!

Hello

Yes I do still have that old Ghetto blaster - it's so cool, I love it (though I never use it). I just like it sitting on my shelf. :)

Tania that seems rather a shame not using it at all.

At least once in a while it should be blasting out a bit of

Soul Sonic Force – Planet Rock,
Arthur Baker – Breaker’s Revenge,
Double Dee and Steinski – The Lessons
or probably the best of the old school cut-ups Big Apple Productions – Vol 2
Etc.

But at least you are looking after it.

I wonder if you would be interested in starting a vintage ghetto blaster appreciation society,
where a few like-minded individuals can gather to discuss and gaze in wonder at ghetto blasters
– sorry I’m being very silly and just kidding you, it’s my stupid sense of humour!

Did you see the "ghetto-blaster PC" thread a while back? Someone took their "stupid sense of humour" to the next level with that little invention. A nice old silver single tape-deck National ghetto blaster with a tablet pc fitted into it. Fuckin brilliant. I want one!

Moonburnt,

Boombox PCs – No this sort of thing is just not right,
I can see it now Plant Rock starts booming out and
Microsoft assistant pops up with – What would you like to do?
Body Pop or Breakdance!

This is not the way look after your Ghetto Blaster…

…by turning it into a PC.
