Best way to save tracks for DJ set? Advice, please.

Post by logic_user99 » Mon May 24, 2010 3:50 pm

So, I've starting DJ'ing with Live. (Loving it, BTW!) It's struck me that my file organisation is not the best. At the moment, I'm picking files from my iTunes library and saving all associated .als files in their home folders (!!!).

Would I be best to use 'Collect and Save' (Live 7) to save copies of all my tracks or is there a smarter way to do it? Does 'Collect and Save' add new tracks to the set without duplicating existing content?

Cheers - Logic.

Collect all will make copies of the files in the project folder, so likely not your best option. I have a seperate folder for all my DJ Tunes and asd's, but I'm using seperate wavs and not my iTunes MP3's.

That's the answer! Cheers, Tarekith. I think I'm going to have to go back and re-encode ALOT of music...
