Any of you who love to use Reason with Live... and are wondering what's happening with the Props... you might want to wander over to their website and see what's new.

I'd guess it will be several days to a week -- maybe longer -- before they start emailing beta testers, but you never know. Can't remember how long an interval it was for the 2.5 beta. Just how pleased I was to see the additions. (And how surprised I was when the plain little black boxes turned out to be at least as useful as the big new flashy modules!)

Forge, as the Good Manual says: "the wheel of Reason grindeth slow, but it grindeth exceeding fine." ;-)

Fuck yeah. I wonder when 3 will finally be released. I also wonder if reason's sequencing editor will be any less retarded this version....

I'm not crazy about Reason's main sequencer either. Not a problem -- I just use Live or Sonar [or maybe Tracktion now :-) ] for that. Any of those work much more to my liking. I almost always treat Reason as a near-infinite rack of extremely CPU-efficient synths, sample players, and effects, and ignore the sequencer.

That said, the guys who really know it are incredibly skilled at making good songs using nothing but Reason. All I can do is marvel and admire; they're far past my skill level.

the combinator looks like a "reason-rack" within a reason rack type of device. It's neat, because often you only get the sound you want from combining a lot of rack units, often cabled weirdly. This would allow you to make those cablings presets. If it's what I think it is of course...

--still sucks, imo... :-/ I stopped using it altogether now...

I 'm hoping they've whacked more CV in out stuff on the back on the synths and this turns Reason into the big low CPU modular mother I've always dreamed it would be :D.
My aren't the wings of butterflies beautiful and do they not make wonderful perturbations.....

updated the picture.
SOS has an article about reason 3

Reason 3 seems to be headed at live performance now. The features discribed still dont convince me yet though.

Does anyone else have issues with the sound engine in reason? I hate to ignite such a topic, but I have never been completely pleased with its output.

It seems thats about it. a mini-mixer, a combinator and a mastering suite. and if you already bought reason 2,5 before they anounced the beta you'll pay more!? (now it's 99$ cheaper untill the release)

what an update

Anybody heard any rumors about Abletons instruments?

yeah - I can always tell reason and did some stings for work and the other 2 engineers both complained they could tell which ones were reason - the Live ones got left alone

I just view reason as a sound source, you can do alot with it once you get it in live
