Drum Racks and Velocity

Post by !STiTCH! » Mon Jun 07, 2010 1:03 am

Hi! Im Paul and I'm an abletonholic. Actually, I am a new convert to Live, and working with drum rack recently I found that when programming a clip (say Kick drum) that while I edit the velocities they still play seemingly at the same volume/level. Am I missing something here? Any help is appreciated.

You are using either a kit or slice preset that does not have the velocity sensitivity turned up. Or your default Simpler is not setup right. Either way, on the simpler, on the right side you will see 'Volume'... two settings below that is 'Vel' turn that up to desired sensitivity ( I usually use around 60.

ok, so is the Drum Rack part of Simpler instrument? Again, Im new here. What I've done is dropped a drum rack into my empty midi track, browsed thru and put together my "kit" and then send MIDI tracks to the drum rack.

do you mean you've dragged just samples to the pads?
