Hi all,

I noticed that Prosoniq Orange Vocoder now supports OS X, plus there's the MDA vocoder plug-in. Anyone have experience/opinions on either?

I also did some digging and found the Electrix WarpFactory hardware vocoder which looks very cool, but I SWORE I was done with hardware. Boy do I love real buttons and lights, though! Anyone have comments on hardware vocoders like this vs. the software plugs?

Thanks,
Josh

hi there joshcarter,

I have used the mda vocoder plugin pretty regularly and find the results to be very good. For best results you can set it to high quality, and I would suggest compressing some of the inputs and compressing the output, otherwise you get a HUGE dynamic range from that plugin.

I have never used a real-life vocoder.

I have played with the prosonic one, and I think it was a little nicer, but i cant remember.
