Yeah, I normally think it's much better to experiment yourself and find out how you can make your own stuff...
... but what the heck, here you go !
Instrument rack with TAL U-No-62:

I made this quick demo (I use the Tal Uno62 but you will notice that the sound of the synth itself isn't that important).
First bars are just the Uno62, then I turn my Audio Effect rack on (Phaser - Saturator (WS) - Saturator (Hard Curve) - EQ8).
Volume of the bass lead stays the same, but the effect rack makes it shine
Sequence isn't perfect atm, but hey I only spent 20 minutes making this.

pretty cool, you should up the patch
I agree link is dead by the way, would like to give it a listen!
Two technics 1210 turntables, alot of guitars, 2gig Sony vgz fz290, 2gig frankenstein pc, mbox, ableton, flstudio, recycle, the infinity gauntlet, and alot of spare time..

I'm sorry but is anyone using my patch?
I feel kinda stupid making the effort to make and share my rack, make a demo and upload everything and getting no response at all...
It's just that this way, I won't have the same enthusiasm next time for sharing something.
Just to let you know...

I actually am really enjoying this patch and the concepts behind it, but I haven't had a chance to include it in my work yet. Cool sound, though. Thanks again!

Frequency modulation is how I think this sound is done. I stumbled on it by accident. Can't remember if it was modulating the filter or the oscillator frequency. I'll mess around and try to re-stumble on to it.
The trick is how incredibly detailed they do it though. When I listen to the dubstep artist Joker I'm always amazed at how much automation of softsynths he's doing, clearly a lot of work goes into it. Perhaps they are just automating the heck out to frequency modulation, although I do agree the same type of thing could be approximated using effects like ring mod etc. To me though, it's modulation doing the stretching inside the synth, that's why it's such a tight sound with perhaps saturation, compression and phasing after that. I think the "stretch" is an internal modulation.
Whatever it is it's totally badass. My favorite part of the record.
Edit: Obviously Royksopp would probably be sending midi cc messages to an analog synth to automate the rate and depth.

I get an error message saying the patch is probably broken. Thanks for sharing it, though.
I'd love to learn how you're doing this. Can you share whats going on in the patch here on this thread?

No prob. Enjoy the patch !
btw, I think it's pretty cool what you can do with a free vst and only Live FX.
