USB1 fast enough for audio?
Hi,
I have a friend who wants to get the EDIROL PCR-1 midi/audio interface. He's only got USB1 on his lappie, but the cpu, ram and HD are of sufficient size for normal Live use. He'll only need to record and/or playback one stereo track (main out/in) at a time.
Will there be probs with only having USB1?
Thank you in advance

No, usb 1 is no problem. Most of the soundcards are usb 1, but you will be limited in the number of channels for in/out or by the max sample rate.

It's a question of latency without pops & clicks .
With my PC laptop, I can get ~26ms total I/O with USB1, and I can get ~10ms total I/O with Firewire.
