Now touchable works great.
interesting and weird...what was your previous version installed? what was your issue exactly.
We made test with different version of Live 8 and it works with all

anyway, glad to hear you fixed your issue.
I was using Version 8.05
Touchable would not load if there were any clips in the set.
Different AU pluggins would not let touchable load.
iMac 2.4Gig 24"
Mac OS 10.5

TouchAble is imo the best, most achieved, controler for ableton Live so far and way ahead of anything that has been done hardware, software ...
It took me minutes to set it up and here I am, controling with such an ease of use my session.
TouchAble is not perfect and it is clearly lacking essential features for djing with live but it will as this is just the beginning. As for studio session, this rocks ! Best drum pads hands on ! Take your laptop, your ipad and you have a full studio to produce music on the go.
The session view is extremely well implemented and maybe one day we shall see a better implementation of the arrangement view.
The control on the plug ins is making my automap app useless but would be great if I could select my 8 fav parameters myself
I would nonetheless recommend the team behind TouchAble to work with a UI designer to make it more esthaeticaly appealing with more subtle color code.
This is extremely professional and you are up and ready for serious music work. I haven't tried this with two ipads but it will soon.

I think this is just the beginning for the revolution we were looking for. Well done ...

As for the other ipad apps, too bad (especialy for the highly anticipated midipad)

THIS
LiveAPI can't allow access to devices parameters inside a rack,
it is a old request from Ableton users.....
so you just can get access to the 8 macros knobs.
break your rack and use the device grid in touchAble to get access to them.

Hmm. As suspected. I can't break the racks because the racks are part of dummy clip scenarios. Shame.

Is it also an API restriction that you can't show a default volume line on tracks?

Is the iPad velocity sensitive? In other words can you use the drum pads MPC style?

Thanks. I have an iTouch, and was about to purchase a Euphonix Artist series setup when I started noticing more and more App controllers...AC-7 Pro, Griid, and now TouchAble...amazing products.

I guess my only question revolves around it being touch sensitive, which doesn't really matter to me...except where the keyboard is concerned. It would be difficult to play a piano if it wasn't.

Thanks,

Well....

The iPad isn't velocity sensitive. However, a genius part of touchAble with the pads is that if you tap them on the edge, it's the lowest velocity. The closer to the center, it ramps up. The velocity sensitivity can also be set.

Honestly, I'd like to have this feature on real pads

Many iphone/ipad apps have velocity responsiveness implemented on keyboards like touchAble did with its pads.

No, it is NOT velocity sensitive.
It is with clever implementation. It's already been done in fact.

You measure the amount of the finger that makes contact with the screen under the premise that the harder you tap, the more your finger 'squishes' and increases the area contacting the surface. With a calibration utility it can be very accurate.

There has been a couple posts about it on engadget back when the ipad came out. I'm not sure if its available in any app store app yet, but then again I doubt there's much demand from the general public.

Do you have any links? The iOS API doesn't give you any data regarding the surface area of the touch - it's either touch or no touch. I guess you'd have to use unofficial APIs = jailbreak to sell the app. :?:

that's not working good with capacitive technology.

only high end resistive include correct presure detection, but no avaible yet, ie stantum:
