yea the SU700 to me is like Ableton in the form of hardware... especially when it comes to looping. So long as your samples are cut correctly, it plays it all with ease. And its version of "warping" is quite good.
slicing a sample up into a ton of smaller pieces, and triggering them with midi, so you can really pick your tempo based on what the crowd is up for.
another bummer about the SU700 is the scsi boards are hard to find, and since i usually rent/hire one in the city i'm playing if its overseas, i dont think i've ever found one with the scsi board built in. What i'm saying is, if you get one... get used to having to load 20+ floppies.
