Hooking up ableton live 6 akai s3000xl

Hi there,

Well the subject speaks for itself. I am trying to using an akai s3000xl sampler with ableton live 6. The sampler is quite old and only has scsi floppy drive with it. I can not afford a cd scsi and I also cant find one. I have manage to wire it up and get sounds direct from live. So instead of loading my samples in from floppy or cd I am just recording them in. My problem is getting the sound out once I have mangled with the sample.

I would really appreciate some help of direct here please. I am sorry if this topic has already been covered but I couldn't find anything.

Are you trying to design sounds in live or the s3000?

Do you just want to record in the sample from live into the s3000 use the effects and then bounce the sound into live?

You should consider selling the akai and buying abletons sampler and a controller.

Why not record the outputs of the akai back into Live through your audio card?

are you on mac or pc? an scsi connection between computer ad the akai can be beneficial.. beside that you record the output of the akai via audio inputs into live.. or just have an external masterrecorder

sounds better than sampler..is cheaper than sampler... works independent from ableton live.. latency free keyboard action.. 10 single outputs in case yo prefer analoge mix downs... is able to perform timestretching on vocal samples if necessary.. ..with scsi direct comunication with propellerheads recycle.. In case it has a non volatible ram board no loading times ...

Comming from hardware samplers way back, emu, ensoniq, akai, the sound rocks so much over software samplers, especially the emu's and ensoniqs! akai rocks too , prefer the sound of the s1100 tho, if you can get one for cheap, buy it.
