How do I program cc slots on an akai lpd8 pad controller..?

Post by lolalola » Mon Aug 23, 2010 3:59 pm

I want to trigger 8 separate clips in session view... ie, pad 1 starts clip 1, pad 2 starts clip 2, etc....
however, when I midi map, it seems the CC settings aren't set up correctly, and I don't know how to do that!

I get a message in Live saying "the selected controller conflicts with the previous mapping..." .. help!

Hmmm, well it seems each of the eight pads tells Live to do the same thing when I go into midi map mode (see photos below).
When I open a drum rack, for example, it's playing the same note on each pad. HELP!

that would actually be a job for the lpd8 editor

change the notes in pad mode, and CC#'s for CC mode - but if you want to use the pads for drum racks they will have to be momentary which means that your CC mode will also be momentary - using toggle for CC's on the LPD8 will break the drum rack mode because you have to hit the pads twice to trigger a sound right

Does this look right..?
I've never used anything like the pad editor before .. after i changed the note numbers (I went from C-2 to G-2), I clicked on 'save preset' at the top. Is that all I need to do?
