ditto here

I tried connecting using the free version both through my wifi and adhoc and had the same result.

I have connected fine with livecontrol and touchosc.

Our support-monkey will be glad to help (if we feed him some bananas) :D

Once installed ....

-Quickly change your Network location direcly from the Apple menu (top left of the menu bar).
-Simply Create Network (from the Airport icon in the menu bar). Always call it the same name and the iPad will remember all of the correct settings.
- Connect to this network from the iPad

3 quick steps and you're done, it really doesn't take long :D

Obviously we'd love things to be even more automated but as we are using wifi networks there are some necessary steps that simply can't be avoided. Be assured though that as soon as we can offer a simpler setup we will do it!

I tried the free version for iphone, it took me a while to get it going, but it seems to work ok, not a big deal changing the settings really, i found it good for launching loops of kits etc, no crossfader, so not so good for djing, probably not what its intended for....

Is it just me, or is the Richie Hawtin association here a little spurious ?

It's a matrix of buttons that offer basic visual feedback.

You might as well release it in association with martin luther king for all the relevance it has to the end user.

or am I missing something here ?

glennv wrote:Although I agree that the Griid probably needs to develop a bit more to be what we all want it to be , the world of Ipad apps prices has made us a little blind i think.
I have used/owned all kinds of controllers from el cheapo but still in the 200euro+ range to a full blown mackie control , and monome and an apc40.
Together thousands of euro's .
All useless (and sold all of them) compared to the few apps of less then the price of a bread. (if you not count the Ipad itself)
Lets support the developer and stop crying.
I just bought Griid Pro this morning and already have Livecontrol + touchOSc for some customizing and will also buy (if it comes) Touchable.
Only by sending these great guys some (very little so please stop crying!!!!) of your cash we can eventualy get the dream all in one app we want.

I gamble Touchable will win the race in short term on features and general useability(definately not on layout), but just having played with Grid (they did one thing only but very good !!!) , if they hold up to the promises and add modules in the near future with a similar style and mindset , they might catch up and who knows overtake. At least with my money then can buy some cups of strong coffee while they continue the development.
BUt then again Livecontrol is very much alive as well and my main workhorse at the moment.
Maybe we can run them all together when multitasking hits the Ipad ;-) ;-)

Great work and respect to all you guys that build these wonderfull tools for us to express and stimulate our creativity
I agree the price of apps has spoiled us and has quickly blinded us to the price of other or past options. Nothing makes laugh harder than reviewers whining that they want their $1 back because the app wasn't as extensive as they thought it would be or is buggy on the first release version. Also people becoming value experts "This app is worth maybe $3.99 but certainly not $7.99!"

My main reason for bringing up the price of Griid isn't because I think it's way outrageous and unwarranted, but because this is probably one of the reasons their profits on Griid aren't shooting through the roof (or maybe they are, fuck if I know).

But also I didn't know until yesterday that their plan has been to greatly add to and improve Griid and also I didn't know it was the brainiacs behind mu for the lemur which has to be the current throne holder for best touch screen Live controller. Both these things make Griid very promising and worth the comparatively expensive initial investment. Wow, I sound like such a shill.
