Rewired Live 8 and Akai APC40 as a Rewired slave into a host

Part 1:

Based on video demos. the Live8 looper is very interesting. Is anyone using Live8 (especially the Looper function) as a rewired slave into a host DAW (Sonar 8 in my case) with success?

Part 2:

I get the impression that the Akai APC40 controller (made specifically for Live) is disabled if Live8 is in Rewire mode.

Anyone care to comment?

Is no one using Live 8 in Rewire mode?
