Absynth
Reaktor Sessions

Most of the time, though, I use the NN-XT sampler in Reason. (Not a VSTi, I know, I know.)

in no particular order:

PRO-52
FM-7 (the absolute best soft synth in my humble opinion)
PolyIbit (thanks to users of the board for recommending this free one!)
String Theory

hippy-dippy answer: don't think in terms of what sounds technoish.
real answer: just play around with it. it's got a lot of useful presets.

pretty much i use everything that comes in Komplete 2. lately more and more Reaktor, since with some looking it covers nearly every other softsynth/effect i'd otherwise be interested in.

and floops.

I use all the Native stuff from the Komplete 2 package (which in my opnion is the greatest value for money ever!!!!).
Also Tassman 4. Excellent too!!! Plus I use Reason (not a plug-in I know). A few free things, but I haven't been that impressed with free stuff.

Reaktor
Absynth
FM7
Pro53
Elektrik Piano

and Reason.

Whenever I'm rewiring Live into Logic I'll add the ES2, EVP88, EVB3 and Scuplture.

Edit: Forgot one: Wizzo Darbuka, which is awesome, BTW.

Stylus RMX (always)
Virtual Guitarist (rarely)

I use AUs if I have a choice (for no particular reason)...but the AU of RMX has some bugs at present, so I'm using the VSTi.
