3hase.. 8O you've been offered a private consult by an Abes rep and you're turning it down because you're sure he can't find anything?

wow.. speechless..
it really shows what an arrogant human being you really are, thinking you know better than anyone else, not being open to and accepting other people's knowledge..

you know what.. I always thought that in all the mud you sling here on this forum there had to be some tiny bit of truth in there,
but first being banned from Support and now turning down a house call; I don't even believe your problems are real and you want something to be solved, because why would you turn down that offer?
So he could discover on the spot that your sync issue isn't actually that big?

sorry poster.. i do trouble shooting in pro studios for over 15 years now. i was listed as midi expert. when there would be something an abelton suport guy could help wright now i would have agreed to the offer.

I am most certain that the situation can be only solved by the development team of ableton by optimizing theire program. So the best help he can offer is to speak for optmisations at theire scrum meetings or whatever.. within my studio the sync issues of ableton most defenetly cant be solved.
Compared to other sytems i ve very good sync specs, i measure from time to time in my setup.
I doubt many people are so aware about the amount of jitter and offsets each individual machine is doing as me.

the wobbeling around the incoming clock is ableton life specific.. no config action will make it any better than it allready is.

Thats not just an educated guess ..that is logical. beside there is not much one can optimise on modern os x systems with hammerfall hardware anyway.

As a neighbor he is defently welcome.. but i actually doubt that he is realy my neighbor.. maybe he mixes me up with the 3te raum guy...

1) not having him at home will not help you MORE. as i said before, maybe he can't fix your issue WHILE AT HOME. but he can sure get more detailed info from seeing your setup, to approach the development team with that info, and helping THEM to set up a test-scenario that mimics yours, so they can reproduce and then fix the bug.

for you being so long in studios and all, you should know that, sometimes, seeing something in real, helps tremendously. and if not, then i can tell this to you as a partial software developer for 10 years. it does. massively so.

2) he's the second one in here stating you're neighbors. and even if that's not true, it makes his offer even more nice.

nothing is for certain, it sure is worth a try..

not trying means for certain, that he can't help for the gig setup. trying means, maybe he can. even while you're the godfather of electronic music, and the most knowledgeable and wise person on this board, and know everything better than even ableton themselves, he might have some idea that you don't.. (do i need a sarcasm tag somewhere here? :))

but anyways. if you don't take the help they offer, don't complain. that is just common sense.

Phieuw, ..

The sync issue almost sounds and looks like a documentary. Someone should be filming this or write a book about it. You could actually read like a whole day about it on the forum. Respect to all involved and from some pov I can understand that if Ableton allows for slave sync it should behave accordingly and since it's not a hardware box I suppose this could be solved and improved over time.

On topic;

no suite = no amp =

On the other hand, I don't need Amp, I need U-he to finish Uhbik-X so I can create some nice EFX rack in Ableton when I slave it to my eh.. oh wait .. :(

not a book. a musical (played with live.. of course.. lets just hope it doesn't crash on stage, create loud noises, or unsyncs with other devices or other live instances on stage.. :))

oh yeah..the 4 voice was awsome.. just manged to made the final tune up only the night before delivery.. but recorded 4 hours unrelted keyboard playing on 120 bpm..

the tuning of such an analog polyphon is even worse than cleaning.. a hard nut to tune 4 voces beeing in sync over a 10 octave range... should have done that earlier...
first things first..
doing the tuneup as the last step was most unwise..

You're right, I can't help you solving existing shortcomings of the software, but I might have some more knowledge about the inner workings of Live, which could help you guys to prevent unforeseeable hickups as you had during your last show. Still just an offer. My time is limited, but I'm willing to come by if that helps you. And yes, we're studio-neighbors since Rok moved out of the studio space 12 years ago.

Ok 3phase, how about this: I repeat what I said before, which is that I'm about to investigate the whole sync topic and, if I find things that we can improve, I'll try to push its priority as good as I can. I will play a fair game and inform you about the status as often as I can. In return I expect you to stop hijacking other threads with all these lengthy rants about your sync issue and keep them in your own sync thread. I also offer to assist you with setting up your next show. I'm not sure if you already realized this: I am your studio neighbor. It takes me a few seconds to come over and help you with your problems. I may not be able to solve all issues you have, but we should be able to find a halfway satisfying setup for your next show. I offered this a while ago, but you ignored it. Not sure if you have overlooked it or if you simply ignored it. Anyway, I'm offering it again. Take it or leave it.

Deal?

neighbor? thats quite strange... however there is nothing you can help me with the sync issues.. no offense.. but its ableton life itself that has build a barrier for any possible workaround..even free syncing or dj sync is flawed by the unpredictable offset of the reaktion to the start command..
And there you have it. You'd rather be a pain in the ass than actually solve your problems, and anyone who pays any attention to you is wasting their time. If you're not willing to work to solve the problem then shut up about it.
