To clear up any confusion I'm not the guy who did the seven minute workout posted above, that's just where I got the idea to make the ten songs in ten days. But yes that guy is dope!
Re: Ableton vs Maschine=10 songs in 10 days
I just tested Maschine. It is awesome. I going to go back and see what else could be awesome about it. I'm very impressed.humnumb wrote:Or you could sell everything you have and just replace it all with Maschine and start making music right away instead of spending time with learning curves of all the gear you collect. It's that good and well thought out. Maschine was designed for musicians by musicians.joshspoon wrote:I'd love to do Maschine and Live but I need to learn more of the stuff I have. Maybe down the road.
Have Fun,

Re: Ableton vs Maschine=10 songs in 10 days
ok so even though I had maschine, my previous track took a while to finish. And it's ok but well... just ok for all the time that I passed on it. I learn a lot and read a lot as well so I guess sometimes you need to slow down your production and think for a moment, and learn new tricks.
But this thread really inspired me, because I like the idea and also because the quality was still there !
So I did my last remix almost enterely in maschine, the rest in ableton for warping the vocal stems, and add some more loops from the stems we had.
Here

So basicaly, everything is made from stems that I loaded in maschine and tweaked.
And I'm really happy with it, because I only spend a total of about 6 hours, but the composition of different patern was soooo fast ! I had everything I needed in about 2 hours, drag and drop loops from maschine paterns to ableton clips in session view. Then play around with the APC to build a good arrangement and ditch the no-so-great loops that I've made to keep only the best.
Workflow was amazing. really straitghforward.

nepotist, I've been listening to your album all day at work. It's totally awesome. Good job! Keep it up!
I wish I could point out one or two tracks I liked, but I think it's so coherent as an _album_ that I'll just have to leave it at liking the whole thing, as a whole.
